"A fantasy book that teens and young adults will most certainly enjoy. As the author states, "utilizing characters, themes, events, and scripture from the Holy Bible," he weaves the journey of good versus evil, life choices, honor, soul searching, and fighting the good fight which is never easy. Some of the themes, characters and events that are utilized from the Bible are easy to catch; others may take a bit of searching. That was part of the fun in reading this book. The book is a quick read and is filled with fast paced adventure. The story will be continued in future books and I have no doubt that however many books are ultimately in the series, readers attention will be held from start to finish."

"I'm writing this review from my kids' perspectives (11 year old girl and 9 year old boy):
11 yo: This book is very exciting to read! Things are constantly going on. A lot of times I had to go back and reread something because it was so interesting and I needed to wrap my head around it. The storyline is so cool! Spoiler alert: My favorite part was when they were in The Reach and they were both in different realities experiencing the same things.
9 yo: I really like this book because it described things so well, and I really liked the characters and the problems and solutions. The part with the portals was my favorite! The network of Spirit Oaks was also super cool. The characters are unique and interesting, and I liked the way the author described how each of them looked. It was easy to imagine the characters! Also, the cliffhanger is INSANE! He needs to get writing the next books!! "

" Awesome Biblical allegory. Exciting journey for the Christian that isn’t afraid of vertigo and creepy demonic monsters. This book is almost a horror. There is a male and a female main character with no romance. A breath of fresh air. It’s a short read, 164 pages. Can’t wait for the next book! "

The Dark Figure continues to advance toward his ultimate goal - rid Eden of the Spirit Oaks and free his master, the Great Deceiver, from Tartarus. Temptation, demons, and other mortals will stand in the way of Marcus and his companions in an attempt to hinder their progress.
What happens when a king turns his back on The Great One? What awaits the companions as they venture to the Spirit Oak inside the kingdom of Sodomorrah?
"Anthony, once again, takes the reader into the Spirit Oak Chronicles with vivid imagery and anagrams. I really like the way he fuses Bible characters and ideas into the book while keeping this an enjoyable read from beginning to end.
If you haven’t read Book 1 of The Spirit Book Chronicles you really need to. If you have then you should absolutely purchase Book 2 and read it. They also make great gifts for friends and family."
